Homework
*Watch video lecture of the lesson created by Mrs. VanSickle at home for homework (including a few "check what you know" problems).
*Students can watch, pause, rewind and re-watch the video lesson as many times as it takes to understand the concept. They write down questions they may have.
In Class

*Students gather materials and begin working on assignment either individually or in small groups.
*Mrs. VanSickle monitors progress, provides feedback, works with individuals or small groups, and answers questions.
*Students that finish early will log in to their Khan Academy math account for enrichment.
*Get the video assignment for homework.
The Teacher
This model greatly increases the overall interaction between student and teacher. The teacher's role switches from presenter to coach, tutor and guide. The teacher is able to check more closely for comprehension, provide instant feedback, answer more questions and get into deeper level math thinking with the students. The use of the video technology increases the personal experience in the classroom for teacher and student.
